Excellent customer service and understanding. Joanne Jonovich was outstanding. She is the epitome of the ‘future’ funeral director and understands that the times are changing.

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Balatinecz can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Marig and I were shocked and heartbroken to hear of John's passing. He was a big man with a big heart with a passion for life, health, the planet earth, his family, friends and the Faculty of Forestry. John had a great influence on me, as my first professor in Wood Science and later as a friend and colleague. We offer our sincere condolences to family and friends.

Condolence: John was kind, gracious, interesting and interested in so many different areas of science and research. A conversation with him was never dull! While it must have been hard for him to leave with still so many plans on his mind he will surely be at peace now, being reunited in spirit with his beloved wife, Toni.
We have lost a good friend and we will remember him fondly. My sincere condolences to his family.

Condolence: It was with shock and sadness I heard about my good Pal John passing. My daughter Mary was about to visit him on Sunday afternoon, but a call to arrange the best time went unanswered in the morning. Inquiring at the hospital, and eventually talking to Ted, Mary learned the sad news.
I talked with John on Friday, he was really too weak to talk then, so we planned a Skype chat for Sunday.
John and I have been good friends ever since our grad student days in Seattle in the early 1960s. John found a wonderful place and a great landlady near the university before I arrived; then she took me in so John would have a pal!! We have been pals since then and visited from time to time. Even shared an enjoyable  couple of weeks vacation in Mexico a few years ago.
Many others here have given  glowing tributes to John - I  can only repeat those and agree.
I will miss You Pal; your friendship, our chats and arguments, lately on Skype, your recent campaigns on various important issues, like GMOs and the criminal Monsanto conspiracy, etc.
We shell also miss our  planned  Mexican vacation next February, but then, you are  in a better place with Toni.
Rest in Piece my Good Friend!!!

Condolence: Our deepest sympathy and condolences to John's Family. John (Jancsi) was member of the Forestry Engineering Students Group of the University of Sopron, who left Hungary when the Hungarian Revolution failed in 1956. The Forestry Faculty joined the University of British Columbia where they completed their study. My wife was a classmate of John in Hungary, later, although she did not pursued forestry, our daughter carried on with the tradition and became a student of John in Toronto. Thank you, John for the caring and help you so generously gave to her and to her future husband while they were students and after their graduation.
Thank you!
Jó Szerencsét! Üdv az Erdésznek!
