It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of How-Woo Robert Jung on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Robert, known to some as Bob or Bobby in his younger years, passed away at the age of 83 after a long and hard-fought battle with prostate cancer.

Beloved husband to Fong Lam for 64 years. Loving father of Lily (Peter), Norman, Paul and Danny (Iwona). Cherished grandfather of Kristina, Michael, Jason, Cory, and Hannah. Robert is also remembered by numerous extended family members and dear friends.

As a proud and sociable man, Robert enjoyed celebrations and as such, we are holding a Celebration of Life in his honour. This will be an intimate and informal gathering starting at 1 pm. Guests are welcome to visit the family and pay their respects. Short remarks will be made at 2 pm, followed by a small reception from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to William Osler Health System Foundation ( where Robert had his many oncology treatments, or Dorothy Ley Hospice ( where he spent his final week under their care.

Little over 20 years ago I met your son Danny and I was welcomed right away into your family. I lost my dad in my teanage years and you helped me feel like I do have a father that I really missed . I will keep in my heart all the happy times we had gathering at the dinner table especially in our Bolton house and Chinese restaurants we adore. I also want to thank you for being so thoughtful and always remembering my mom from my old country at Christmas time passing me a gift for her. I will miss you having you in my kitchen pushing each other and fighting who is going to cut the turkey! I pray for you my polish prayers so you can Rest In Peace Your polish daughter Iwona

Dear Jung family, you were such a big part of my life throughout my younger years. Mr. Jung was always a happy, welcoming person,. The Tropical Hut was my family's go to restaurant because of the friendliness and great food! I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Jung's passing. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Susan Adams- Wauro

Hi Dad...I have so many memories of you and would like to share some... When I was a little girl, I was so "in love" with you. You were always dressed in fashion, looking debonair with an infectious smile on your handsome face. You were the coolest dad ever! I remember you would sing "Love Letters in the Sand" by Pat Boone to me. I was too young to understand the words but I loved the melody and the sound of your beautiful voice. In my teens I remember how you would walk through the dining room of your restaurant, Tropical Hut, take the time out of your busy day to greet all your customers with that infectious smile of yours. You were always well liked by everyone that met you. Dad, we all miss you and wish you were still here with us but knowing you are up in heaven, pain-free and smiling again gives us some comfort. If you see Ace, please give him a big hug from me :-). Dad you asked for a party when you pass on so we are having a celebration in honour of your life. I know you are here with us in spirit as you will always be in our hearts and memory forever. I love you very much Daddy .... your only daughter, Lily

I will always remember my Goo Juoong (Uncle Bob) as a handsome man, always smiling and whenever you visited him, he greeted you with a warm heart-felt welcome. I will cherish the wonderful memories that I have of my Goo Juoong and even though he has passed on, he will always live in my heart. May be mom and him can get together for a game of mahjong! Love you always and forever, Goo Juoong! Ngook Ling (Edna)LUM PARNHAM
