Salvina (Sally) Michele

July 5, 1944 (Termini Imerese, Sicily) - January 15, 2019 (Toronto, Ontario)

In sweet and loving memory of Salvina (Sally) Michele, who gently passed away in her home on Tuesday January 15, 2019.

A remarkable woman whose work here was done so God called her home.

Born in 1944 to the late Carmelina and Leonardo Labarbera in Termini Imerese, Sicily. She immigrated to Canada in 1957.

Salvina will be forever missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Carmine. With a loving heart, he cared for her and was always by her side. She was an extraordinary example of love, compassion, and strength, values which she passed on to her children, Maria and Anthony, Albina and Anthony, Basil and Christine.

Salvina was a loving sister and the eldest of nine children. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Frances and Gino, Filippina and Rocco, Marco and Matilda, AnnaMaria and Salvatore, Antoinetta and Ignazio, Vince, Silvana and the Late Pino. She will also be missed by her loving aunt, Maria Alongi, and her in-laws Anna, Nazzareno and Filomena, Dora and Giuseppina.

Salvina lived for her family. She dedicated her time preparing her grandchildren’s favourite meals and being their number one supporter in everything they did. She will be watching down from heaven over her beloved grandchildren Amanda, Emily, Charlie, Victor, Valerie, Ethan and Christian.

Sally will be forever remembered by all those around her. Her selflessness, her passion for cooking, and being in company will continue to live on.

Family and friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Saturday from 6-9 and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday January 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Roman Catholic Church 2889 Islington Ave.,
Toronto (just north of Finch Ave.). Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Our Dearest Italian Family - more than 20 years ago when Angela immigrated to Canada with Candy and little Debbie, they had no idea that a great family of Michele's would embrace them and take care of them. Salvina and Carmine essentially adopted my Mom and her children and made sure they were never wanting for love (and FOOD!). Thank you so much for all you have given us and Salvina may your soul rest in peace, and enjoy looking down from heaven at all your friends and family. Love you always, Joleen
