Timothy passed away peacefully on Thursday May 23, 2019, in his 68 year. In August of 2018 he was diagnosed with Metastatic Lung Cancer. The past ten months was a journey he walked with dignity, humour and courage. His last days were spent at the hospital where he volunteered after retiring from SLH Transport in 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family who held his hand until he took is last breath. He is survived by his wife, Donna and his son, William. He is predeceased by his parents Ronald Raymond Sheldon (2015) and Mildred Jill Sheldon (2012). He will be remembered with great love by his Aunt and Uncle, James and Ruth Sheldon. His cousins considered him a brother rather than a cousin. He will be fondly remembered by his many family members and friends in the United Kingdom, United States, Belgium and Canada.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Justin Chopra, the nurses and support staff of 6J Oncology, THP Mississauga Hospital who took exceptional care of him during the last weeks of his life. Donations to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation would be greatly appreciated as he often said the most rewarding “job” he ever had was helping people find their way in the hospital.

Tim was a very special friend. I looked forward to hours of wonderful conversation with him and Donna whenever we met. He knew how to make a wonderful cup of tea. He was always a pleasure to be with. He was entertaining, humorous and filled with many, many stories, historical facts, personal insights and opinions which I thoroughly enjoyed. I never left their home without feeling really blessed by Tim's warmth and enthusiasm. I was sad to hear of his passing but confident in the assurance that we will one day meet again. God bless you, Donna and William, in the years ahead!

So sorry to find out Tim past away. My thoughts and prayers to the family. I had the pleasure to work with Tim at SLH for a number of years. When we saw each other in the yard we would stop and exchange stories and ask how each other’s day has been so far. There’s no more pain my friend. May your days ahead be peaceful with god.

For a period of about 5 years, we saw Tim & Donna almost every Saturday afternoon at various hockey rinks across Mississauga, as our sons played on the same hockey team. We shared so many laughs in the stands. Tim always had a story to share. Tim referred to our daughter, Lisa, as his “favourite teenager”, until William was old enough to take over that title. She then became Tim’s “favourite ‘female’ teenager”. Tim was a true gentleman, in every sense of the word. He always had a kind word & genuine smile. We extend our love & support to Donna and William, as they treasure Tim’s memory.

Sharing a smile and laugh with Donna and Tim in the Volunteer Resources office at Mississauga Hospital was always the highlight of my day. Tim had such an easy smile, and he would give a little pause before talking you just knew that a great, dry humoured one-liner was about to come your way. He was so generous with his time, and so devoted to Donna. I am a better person for having known him.

I was honoured to have Tim as a friend & that he considered me as such. Tim was a man of generosity in all things & humble to his core. Humour, intellect, pragmatism, respect, kindness; he touched the lives of so many people in a myriad of positive and caring ways. A thoroughly decent bloke. And of course the best thing of all was his boundless and abiding love of his darling Mrs. Bear and their wonderful son William. He will be forever missed but certainly never forgotten. Much love to you my dear Donna and William.
