Samuel Augustus Swyers

Was reunited with his cherished wife Myrna (nee Dawe) on October 4th at the age of 92. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family, and many friends.

The Swyers family would like to say thank you to the Salvation Army for being such an inspirational influence in our father’s life, and also we are very grateful to the staff at Hospice Wellington for all their care in making his last days so peaceful and restful.

In honour of Mr. Swyers life donations to the Salvation Army or Hospice Wellington would be greatly appreciated.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Saturday October 19th from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow in the chapel at 11:30 a.m.

Our dad was a family man who loved his family, grandkids and great grand children so much! He would beam whenever they were around. Our dad was a hard working man and never backed down from any kind of work. We remember the days when we couldn’t wait to play cards and how mad he got when he didn’t win... we would all laugh about it afterwards.. The other thing I learned about our Dad is he loved to sing and he had a great voice! Yes our dad was stubborn and I do believe he passed that on to most of the family. Our dad never needed very much in life, he was content with what he had and never asking for more. There are so many memories of all the family at the pool, so many bbqs. and laughter. Our dad was a social butterfly, he would talk to anyone! And they all loved him. Everyone knew him. He was a fighter... been through a lot over the years for his health.. Will miss our chats on the phone But I know we can always talk to him... he’s with his loved ones now. He really missed his wife Mryn. He is in a better place and I know what’s he’s saying right now... stop your crying... it’s been a wonderful life on earth but I’m happy... you will be missed terribly by all your family Papa 💕
